The Monthly Log, as Ryder presents it, is where you can map out specific events as well as write down the things you’d like to do over the course of the month. Additionally, the Monthly Log also serves as a way to log notable snippets that happened. This way you can get a bird’s eye view of what happened during the month.

Over time, Bullet Journalists have modified the Monthly Log to make it work for them. This has led to a medley of variations.

Here is a curated selection of various kinds of Monthly Logs to inspire you!

Ryder’s Monthly Log

Here you can see how there’s a month list on the left-hand page and tasks to do on the right-hand page.

If you look closely, you can also see a minimal tracker to the right of the left-hand page where Ryder tracks two habits at a time. In this case, his meditation and exercise. There’s one slash per each meditation (he meditates twice a day) and an X for exercise.

There are many different ways you could add columns to the Monthly Log. Here are a few examples.

Here Dee left room for three columns: morning, afternoon, and evening.

With log & minimal tracker

I would write events on the mini calendar with a color code and write a short line about the day’s notable moments on the log side. I also had a small tracker with a few columns.
